As a young kid growing up, I too had braces. I chose to become an orthodontist because I had such a wonderful experience receiving orthodontic care. My orthodontist made a huge difference in my life, and I knew that someday I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. My orthodontist loved his job; he knew me well, and I always knew that I would be taken care of when I visited his practice. I want to get to know my patients on a personal level, so that 20 years from now, they can look back and remember our practice and what a great experience they had.

Someone once said that if you enjoy what you're doing, then it's not a job!

I feel that being an orthodontist is the best non-job on the planet! I enjoy the art and precision of orthodontics, and I love getting to know my patients and their families as I help transform each smile I have the opportunity to work with.

I have been in private practice since 2004. My work toward becoming an orthodontist began after high school when I attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). After graduating, I attended the University of Tennessee where I earned my dental degree followed by an orthodontic residency and my certificate in orthodontics and Masters degree.

The orthodontics field is constantly changing; continuing education makes it possible to stay current.

I feel that by staying informed of new orthodontic techniques and treatments I am able to provide my patients with the most accurate and advanced treatment options possible. Each year I participate in various continuing education opportunities, as well as upholding my memberships in several orthodontic associations, including the Water's Edge Orthodontic Study Club. I am highlighted in H Texas "Top Docs for Kids" and "Top Docs," and featured in Texas Monthly's "Super Dentists," a selective yet diverse listing of outstanding doctors.

Smiles are meant for sharing, all day, every day!

I love living in Texas, and raising my family in nearby Katy. I am originally from Memphis, and have called this area home since 2004. My wife, Kristin, and I have one son, Grayson, and two daughters, Caroline and Kaitlin. We also four dogs named Sadie, Rudy, Kramer, and Newman - it's a full house!  Don't get me started on the dog thing!  My family is extremely important to me, and I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids. I also love watching college football, and I am really into music. When I'm away from the practice, I enjoy building guitars and playing the guitar.

It's important to me that I give back to the communities that have given me their trust over the years. I am always looking for ways to actively engage the community, and make each person's day, a day worth smiling about. In 2004, I started the Katy Young Dentist's Study Club. I support the local schools, and I have been a business partner with Spring Branch ISD and Katy ISD since 2006. A few years ago, I was able to start two scholarship funds in honor of my science teacher, who passed on his love of science to me, and my football coach, who taught me about perseverance and discipline. I believe in supporting the people who support me.
